Privacy notice

Who we are

Wiseman Web Services ("we", "us") builds and hosts websites for local businesses, and runs this client area. We are the data controller for the information you give us here. You can reach us by raising a request in this portal, or using the phone number or email address Courtney has provided to you.

What we collect

• Your account details — name, business name, email, phone, and website address.
• Your requests & messages — the change/support requests you raise and the messages on them.
• Project & billing records — the status of your work, invoices, and your hosting plan.

We do not collect or store your card details. All payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe — your card information goes straight to them and never touches our systems.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To provide the service you've asked for — building your site, hosting it, and handling your requests (performance of our contract with you).
• To bill you for hosting and any agreed work (performance of our contract; and our legal obligation to keep financial records).
• To keep the service secure and running — logins, backups, and preventing misuse (our legitimate interests).

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We only share it with the providers that make the service work — our website hosting provider, Stripe (payments), and, if enabled, an email provider that sends you notifications — each under their own data-protection terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How we keep it safe

Your connection to this portal is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash — we can't see them. Access is limited to Courtney. Card data is held by Stripe, not us.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and project information for as long as you're a client, and financial records for six years afterwards to meet UK tax and accounting rules. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. Just get in touch. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This portal uses a single strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies here.

Terms of use

• This client area is for current Wiseman Web Services clients, to view their project, raise requests, and manage billing.
• Please keep your login details secure and don't share them. Your account is for you and your business.
• Don't misuse the portal or submit anything unlawful. We may suspend access if it's misused.
• Raising a request doesn't by itself commit us to work outside your agreed plan — anything beyond it will be discussed and quoted first.
• Hosting and any agreed work are billed through Stripe under the plan you've agreed. You can cancel your hosting plan at any time, with no long tie-in.
• The portal is provided on a best-efforts basis and may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance.
• These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
